If you are planning to join a dive club in the UK , the BSAC system is perfect for you. Most dive centres around the world recognise BSAC courses and BSAC scuba diving certifications, some locations only recognise PADI certs, but in the UK you will not have this problem..

Learn to dive - Beginner Courses - Small Groups - 20yrs Experience

Normally the BSAC Ocean Diver is the first step along the ladder and a great place to get started. You become qualified to dive without instruction, anywhere in the world. The course is the same through out the world, but the instructors and level of tuition changes from dive centre to dive centre. Diving is one of the best sports in the world when it is safe, we strongly suggest good tuition so you are competent and confident for when you are diving on your own.
