Ecolodge Shagra Village is the base of Red Sea Diving Safari with one of the most beautiful house reefs in the south.The village is situated opposite the famous Elphinstone reef. The village houses 51 chalets, 25 huts, and 40 tents. The bay (Marsa) where the Ecolodge is set up has a superb house reefs which house many species of fish, an excellent variety of hard corals, and has excellent night diving possibilities. This is the mothership of al villages and greta for individuals.
The bay is shallow, approximately 10 meters in depth, and slowly dropping as it reaches the outside walls which are 40-50 meters in depth.
The diving program of Ecolodge Shagra Village is suitable for all divers. Our diving packages offer unlimited house reef diving, night diving, 2 guided dives a day either by truck or inflatable on the house reef plus, optional boat dives to the numerous offshore reefs of the area.

Ecolodge Nakari Village is our second operation which also has its own magnificent house reef. The Village is situated opposite of Dolphin House reef and has no resorts in direct sight. Ecolodge Nakari Village combines the peace and quiet of the desert with the personal touch of a professional and fun staff that will make you feel at home.

The village houses 28 chalets, 11 huts, and 25 tents. One of the very unique things about Nakari Village, is that it  was used as a port city in the early Roman period. Remains of the ancient settlement can been seen on a hill overlooking the bay.

The bay (Marsa) where the Ecolodge is set up has a superb house reefs which house many species of fish, an excellent variety of hard corals, and has excellent night diving possibilities as many nocturnal fish congregate here to feed (torch hire is available on site if required). 198 comfortable well appointed chalets each sized at 55 sqm, built with natural stone, which compliments the surrounding desert landscape. Each room has its own private terrace or balcony overlooking the sea, with relaxing sun beds in addition to tables and chairs.
Chalets consist of two single beds or king size bed, sofa bed and corner dresser unit.
All Chalets are equipped with satellite TV, air-conditioning, mini bar, International direct dial telephones and bathroom with shower and hairdryer, separate dressing table and wardrobe.

Great for the warmer months. December to March, you are better off getting a hut or chalet, due to the cold nights. The tents also have the best views.

Tents are located near the beach. Inside each cotton house (3,5 x 3,5 meters) there are two beds, 2 meter apart and they are supplied with 2 sheets, blankets (not necessary in summer) and a pillow per person. The housekeeping team is very accommodating and should one of the guests need an extra blanket or additional bedding, they should just ask. When they arrive at the Ecolodges the staff will explain how the tent flaps can be used to stop sand from entering the tent. The tents have electricity for lighting, battery recharging and computer use. The tents have the use of communal showers and toilets with all modern comfort (running hot and cold water). The toilets empty to a septic tank and so flush, although to avoid blockages all used paper should be placed in the bin beside the toilet. The guests should bring their own towels for the beach and for the regular use and showering. In addition, they should bring cosmetics such as shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste etc. Sheets and pillowcases are changed regularly by our housekeeping.

Royal Tents
Double the size, offers a double bed, bean bags, fan and more.

Awarmer and more secure feel than the tents. The beds are the same, however here you have a little more privacy.

The Mandarah is an ancient Egyptian term, which describes a guest room for the very close friends or relatives in the Egyptian house.The guests can use the facilities of the house like the toilet and kitchen et cetera. The Mandarahs are located behind the tents on the side of the wadi, overlooking the bay. The huts have 2 beds with sheets, blankets and a pillow each. There is a bedside table with a lamp, and a clothes cupboard, plus a fan. The Mandarahs are 3.5 X 3.5m with domed roofs and 2 windows. This desert styled architecture is very effective and they stay cool enough without requiring air-conditioning. Guests staying in Mandarahs have the use of a communal hot shower and toilet block, which are also in a stone building with vaulted roofs. These toilets empty to a septic tank and so flush. To avoid blockages, all used paper should be placed in the bin beside the toilet. The guests should bring their own towels for the beach and for the regular use and showering. The term Madyafah comes from the ancient Egyptian era and it means a bigger room in the Egyptian house. The Madyafah is 24m² stone building with domed roofs. This desert stylearchitecture is very effective and stays cool enough without requiring air-conditioning. In addition there are two terraces of 8m² with bamboo chairs. One of the terraces has a mountain view while the other one is facing the sea. The chalets have their own facilities of cold/hot shower and toilet and are furnished with two beds, wardrobe, side table, dressing table with a mirror and a fan. The guests should bring their own towels for the beach. Towels are provided for showering. In addition, they should bring cosmetics such as shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste etc. Sheets and pillowcases are changed regularly by our housekeeping.

Super Chalets
In Ecolodge Shagra Village 20 chalets with air conditioning and mini-refrigerator are available starting from the 1st of May 2007 for only 5 euro per night extra on top of the normal price. These chalets are non smoking.
